ProduSafe wishes all her customers and relations a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Succesfull 2016
ProduSafe QX antimicrobial nanocoating proven effective by TNO and a new nanocoating containing titanium dioxide (TiO2) that guarantees clean and safe tanks, silos, spray dryers and food production surfaces.
Using what is known as the ‘chicken filet test’, Dutch research institute TNO has proven that the active ingredient in ProduSafe QX does not migrate into food products. These test results pave the way for the manufacturer to apply for ‘food-grade’ status at EFSA.
ProduSafe QX is suitable for any company looking to ensure optimum hygiene and reduce the risk of microbial contamination, as are most companies in the food and beverage industry. The coating consists of TiO2 nanoparticles in an aqueous suspension. Under the influence of UV light, titanium dioxide releases oxygen free radicals that eliminate bacteria, viruses and fungi.
The antimicrobial coating proved effective on the 11 microorganisms TNO tested for. Fungal spores were resistant to the coating’s antimicrobial effect, but after hatching the fungi were killed by the coating. Cleaning did not affect the coating’s effectiveness.
The TiO2 particles are so small they permanently adhere to and become part of the surface’s crystalline structure. Because the particles are so small, the active surface is large. The coating makes the food contact surface highly hydrophilic, so the water forms a smooth film on the surface. Organic material is broken down from the surface up. Hence, it has difficulty attaching to the surface and is easy to rinse off. The coating disappears only through wear and tear………………………..

This month already the 3th inspection bridge was delivered which was developed out of the partnership between Altrex and ProduSafe and used for crack testing of two huge spray dryers at one of the biggest producers of baby food in the world.
This installation makes inspections and entrance of silos/tanks and spray dryers very easy and comfortable because no scaffolding is needed anymore. It safes a lot of costs and reduces downtime to a minimum to achieve less downtime of production.
The inspection platform guarantees safe working at height. The system meets International and European regulations as EN 1808 and the Machinery Directive. TÜV, the world renowned Notified Body, has approved the system and is unique in the world.
Millions are lost annually on products that do not meet the quality requirements. And what about products that inadvertently get onto the market. The consequences of this can be enormous. The preventive inspection of production installations prevents these problems.
ProduSafe arranges this by:
- Periodically checking the installations for possible defects
- Preventive inspection of high-risk locations (related to contamination or infection

Food safety is the top priority for companies that produce and process food products in Europe, and the industry prides itself on delivering safe, affordable and wholesome food both domestically and abroad.
Food safety standards are applied to all food products produced in Europe and countries that import food products must also meet these European standards. All food products must meet or exceed these safety standards set forth by EFSA in order to reach European consumers.
Since 1996, the food industries have been operating under Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), which is a systematic, science-based and preventive approach to food safety that addresses potential biological, chemical and physical contamination of food products. HACCP plans consist of measures to protect the food from unintentional contamination at critical control points. HACCP is used in the meat and poultry industry to identify potential food safety hazards, so that key actions can be taken to reduce or eliminate these risks.
These food safety and inspection systems, coupled with the industry’s commitment to producing the safest food possible, means that consumers can feel confident that the European food supply is among the safest in the world.
What can we do for you?
A safe and hygienic production. That’s what ProduSafe for stands. With our unique IRAS system we discover all possible risks right at time. We know how valuable production time is for you. We don’t offer you just only the inspection, but also a sustainable solution.

Food Waste. Did you ever thought about how many food is wasted that do not meet the quality requirements. And what about products that inadvertently get onto the market. The consequences of this can be enormous.
With the world’s population growing rapidly, it is important to handle our raw materials sparingly and carefully. This is certainly also the case for our production processes. We just cannot afford to waste products through spills or other losses.
Over 100 million tonnes of food are wasted annually in the EU (2014 estimate). If nothing is done, food waste is expected to rise to about 126 million tonnes by 2020. (source European Commission)
Food waste is not only an ethical and economic issue but it also depletes the environment of limited natural resources.
All actors in the food chain have a role to play in preventing and reducing food waste, from those who produce and process foods (farmers, food manufacturers and processors) to those who make foods available for consumption (hospitality sector, retailers) and ultimately consumers themselves.
A local brewer exported lots of draught beer. At a certain moment, foreign catering establishments complained about the beer they received. It foamed extensively and was just not right. When we checked the pasteuriser (plate heat exchanger), we found cross contamination in the device. Foreign types of yeast had entered the process. The device was eventually replaced by a new one. The preventive inspection of production installations prevents these problems already at the source and can avoid food waste already at the producer. In the food and beverage industry, prevention is better than cure. Would you like to know the added value of us in this area? Contact us
